Excellence in Vocal Performance Award

In an effort to inspire young singers to achieve their maximum potential, Chester County Choral Society established The Excellence In Vocal Performance Award Competition in 1993. All high school seniors who either reside in or attend school in Chester County are eligible for these awards. The purpose of the awards is to recognize, promote and reward the achievement of vocal excellence in young singers in Chester County. Voice teachers and high school vocal departments in Chester County will receive information in January, 2003 about the eleventh annual competition on March 1, 2003. In addition to a cash prize of $500.00, the first place winner will receive an opportunity to perform a solo at the annual Spring Concert on May 17, 2003 together with a Certificate of Achievement, as well as a plaque, which may be permanently displayed at the winner's school. The second place award is designed to recognize the most promising singer. The winner of this cash prize of $250.00 will also receive an opportunity to perform a solo at our concert, together with a Certificate of Merit.

The Choral Society is very proud to have provided an opportunity for the recognition and encouragement of talented young people and has awarded over $2,500.00 in prizes in the last ten years.
